I feel the world of clear communication, pleasure, sexuality and connection is widely misunderstood, and we don't get much education around these topics growing up (or as adults!). Sexuality and intimacy is a part of our lives, one that needs attention and care, one that contributes to our well-being and our quality of life. I am deeply passionate about helping others connect and understand their bodies and pleasure, which I do in a calm, casual, respectful and professional manner during sessions. You may be surprised at how normal it can all seem!
I have completed my certification in sexological bodywork via the Institute of Somatic Sexology (ISS), Australia. Along with this training, I have studied neuroscience, physiology, anatomy, sexuality and rehabilitation at a University level, and incorporate this clinical knowledge into my therapeutic approach. I also have experience in educating people in communication, consent, sexuality and pleasure, skills which I also utlilise into my work with you.
In sessions, you are the expert on your body, and I am led by you. I act as your guide, not your teacher.
All persons in the LGBTQIA+ community, kink/BDSM and non-monogamy communities in which I am a part of, are welcome and respected in my sessions.
What is sexuality and intimacy coaching?
Sexuality coaching as a somatic sexological bodyworker, is a therapeutic modality which addresses individual and partnered concerns, through connecting yourself to your body.
What’s ‘sexological bodywork’, you ask? Elevator pitch (as it’s so hard to describe): it’s sex therapy which can be hands-on work, if relevant to the client’s desired outcomes. It’s one-way touch. The practitioner is fully clothed at all times (and wears gloves for all touch). It can be hands on, as sometimes showing and doing is more effective than just explaining. 'Somatic’ simply means ‘your body’, or ‘greater body connection’.
When we become more connected with ourselves, we can understand our wants, pleasures and desires better. This is what embodied work focusses on. Sessions aim to help you learn and discover effective ways to change your neurological wiring and sensitivity, but this does not happen immediately as it can take time and work to guide people to access/explore/recover their sexuality and pleasure.
I offer sessions with a physiological and neurological focus, towards pleasure re-integration, recovery and enhancement. This may or may not include touch, depending on what you, the client, would like to address and what all parties present agree to. I, as a therapist, remain fully clothed during all sessions and wear gloves during any touch experiences. Touch is one-way, and solely from an educational and therapeutic perspective.
Are you ready to commit to your body and its pleasure? For more information regarding what concerns/topics I can address & rates, see the information under 'services' for individuals or partners.
